Will I have damaged our bond?

We got our lovely girl a little bit out of the blue as we were on the waiting list for a pup in November when someone dropped out from a litter in the same breed club and we were given first refusal. By this point though we had already had a holiday booked that wasn't dog friendly, so the breeder said she could have her back for a bit. It worked out that the pup came to us for three weeks and has been back to the breeder for two. The breeder has been sending us updates and she has been having a whale of a time with her brother, mum and various other pups at breed shows etc. I'm worried now that she won't want to come home!

Has anyone been in a similar position? Will I have damaged my bond with my baby girl?

You won't have damaged your bond. She will be fine. I bought my current eldest home at 4.5 months from the breeder, and she's 110% my dog in spite of us getting started a bit later. Enjoy your holiday and don't worry!

She'll be fine. Think of all the rescue dogs that go on to develop a fantastic bond with their new owners!
