Why is my dog pooing in the kitchen at night?

That's it really. 11 month old entire male labradoodle, house trained since 4 months has shat in the kitchen overnight on three separate occasions this week.

Not ill, normal stools. No major change other than the fricking heat.

All thoughts welcome.

What time is his last walk?

Eleoura · 22/07/2021 17:18

Could you get a doggy door so he can go outside when he needs to?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 22/07/2021 17:20

If it was because of the heat his poo would be looser.

teelizzy · 22/07/2021 17:20

@ChardonnaysPetDragon he's had an evening walk every evening.

@Eleoura unfortunately not. He seems to have gone off pooing in the back garden anyway over the last couple of weeks.

Could you do that at a later hour than now?

Our dog went through a really random phase of pooing in our bedroom in the evening. It happened 3 or 4 times and then stopped again. Not helpful I know but hopefully this is a short lived phase for you too.

How hot does the kitchen get at night? We leave an electric fan on in ours to keep our dog cool (he will poo in there if too hot).

When is he last fed. Does he get tidbits ?

Have you had hot/humid weather where you are?
