How often do you bath your dogs & do you have any tips/tricks for bathing a reluctant dog? Thank you!

I don't wash DDog very often, and her (double) coat is largely self cleaning.

But when she's rolled in something stinky, I'm glad that she's a small breed and that I can pick her up and plonk her in the utility room sink. She hates it, but puts up with it with a mournful 'hurry up' look in her face. She does get the good treats afterwards

Mine’s a spaniel and gets so muddy/sandy/filthy tearing about - he comes home with half the beach on him. He gets showered about once every 6 weeks but like a PP, it’s twice in a fortnight and then nothing for 2 months depending on where we’ve walked and the weather. He gets a treat afterwards too. Oh, if you’re doing it alone, lock the bathroom door! He escaped once when covered in goose shit and ran all round the house before recaptured.

I have to wash my dog far more than seems to be the norm here. But in the winter she came back from virtually every walk looking like this!

She had fun though and luckily she likes the shower. Grin

The occasional hose down if they have been rolling in fox poo, otherwise just a brush.

Love the dirty dog pics! I wonder how they'd get clean in the wild?
