My dog won't go to sleep

I'm at a total loss. He never has issues with settling whilst we are away but we've come away today and he won't settle at all.

He's been walked, fed, has his normal bed but he won't stop crying. I can't sleep in the living room as there are no spare covers. I've got DD in with me and he's a big clumsy dog so I can't let him in here as he could very easily hurt her if he misjudged a jump. He's also never slept in with me so I don't really want to start that. I've given him a Kong and he hadn't touched it. I'm at a total loss.

Wtf do I do? I feel terrible for him.

Might sound like the obvious but does he need to go out for another wee or something? He might have an upset stomach?

Can you not just sleep in the living room with no covers? Or use some coats as covers etc? We have had to get very creative in various different self catering properties to solve various dog/child problems. There is normally a way.

No he's been out. I'm on the floor with him just now but there really isn't anywhere to sleep. A tiny 2 set sofa (more like the 1.5 seat type ones), two chairs and a snuggle chair type thing.

Even with me on the floor he isn't settling Sad

It's so unlike him

Has he been on holiday before? Has he eaten anything differen to normal? Is everyone with you who would normally be in your house? My dog hates it if someone who is supposed to be there, isn't. My son went on a sleepover and he looked for him all night.

Yeah it's our normal household away and he's been away a fair bit. Not since last Oct though but it's never been an issue before. Not eaten anything different and has been out to the toilet and done nothing just a few minutes ago.

Ah now you are stuck, good luck for the rest of the night.

He's back whining. It's like he isn't happy to door is closed between him and the rest of the family but that's no different when it's bedtime at home.
