Air tag on a harness

I’m thinking of getting one of these.
Is it possible to ‘hide’ it under the harness in case he gets stolen ? It might give a chance of finding him, until the harness is removed.

There one on mine but it wouldn't be easy to hide.

I thought I’d seen a rubbery thing that attached and hid it underneath.
Maybe I dreamed it !
Does the tag come with a ring to attach it ?

The key rings are on the Apple website. There are all different ones. And no doubt other manufacturers will start to make them too.

I have a ruffwear harness and it has a little pocket built in. It's not obvious at all it's a pocket and I've put an airtag in there.

I suppose it’s worth a try but the thing will alert the thieves if they have an Apple phone anyway.

They specifically tell you if s tag not belonging to you is travelling with you - so it can’t be used for occult tracking

So how far away will it track to ?
If he’s on the other side of a field would it work ?

I've got one on my dog. It hangs off his collar. He bombs around everywhere so it's proved pretty indestructible!

It's not really a tracker though. If I'm on one side of the field and him the other, I couldn't see the difference. It's not hugely precise like that but it would give you the general area like the find people bit on the iPhone.
