It's been a while since I did this - do I need to get regular worming treatment from my vet or can I buy it from general pet supply shops?

I buy from Viovet online, as we're some distance from our vets. We either buy Drontal or Panacur as we've got one with a sensitive tummy.

I've never used the ones off the shelf in pet shops.

Vet. Much better products that actually work.

You need one from the vet as over-the-counter wormers don't deal with lungworm. This is an increasing problem in the UK. My dogs have Milpro, three times a year, May, August and November.

Panacur from reputable on line service and my vet has calculated dosage for me. Panacur can be used for preventing lungworm if usedmonthly. If you have a herding breed check the MDR1 status because they can't have a couple of drugs usually used in certain wormers.
