Kennel cough?

Our dog (nearly 2) went to the vet last Wed for an eye infection and to the groomer on Friday.

Today he was fine this morning and this afternoon he started coughing intermittently, sounds like he has something in his throat, bringing up small amounts of white foamy sick sometimes. In between times he is fine - a little bit quiet, but eating and was fine on his walk (just before he started coughing) - sniffing and running normally.

Does this sound like it could be kennel cough? And if so does he need a vet urgently?

It sounds exactly like kennel cough - my youngest has just had it. The vet can give them medicines to manage the symptoms, so whether he needs to get depends on if he’s well in himself.

Yes sounds very much like KK. Maybe ring your vet and ask, when mine had it the vet gave her an injection which seemed to quickly work wonders, plus a course of tablets.

Rang the vet - apparently there is loads of it about, they are seeing about 5 dogs a day. She says they didn't need to see him unless he is really struggling. I am trying to wfh and there is gagging in the background of my calls and small puddles of white sick dotted across the the carpet 🤢 poor little guy.

It’s rife in my area at the moment Sad
Never heard of it being so widespread in 13 years of dog ownership. Our girl off to the vet tomorrow to check as her eyes seem infected with it as well as the cough
