Teenager zoomies

Hello wondering what do do about what I think are zoomies in my 10 months old pup. Around 630/7 we sometimes still have around an hour or hour and a half of what feels like excess energy where if not distracted he will scrabble the sofa, try to chew rugs and cushions, just annoying behaviour that he has mostly grown out of. He's a pretty calm and chilled dog the rest of the time.

Is this still common and will he just grow out of it? It's the worst time to have to distract him as we're usually putting food together or just trying to wind down.

He'd maybe benefit from a walk just before that time then give something mentally tiring like a long lasting chew, Kong, lick mat or puzzle feeder

Does he have an evening walk? I found my puppy really needed an evening walk, but as an adult he's generally fine without one.

I would take him out for a walk (doesn't have to be long - 15 or 20 minutes is plenty) and then encourage him to settle down with something like a frozen chew or a nice natural chew to keep him busy.

Mine is three now but his routine after a walk is still to settle down with a chew, and then after that he takes himself off to the sofa for a sleep.

He normally goes for a walk between 4.300/ 5 and 5.30/ 6 6 roughly. I was wondering whether the reverse might be the case - that he is too overstimulated.

I doubt it's overstimulation if it's starting 30 mins to an hour later but that is quite early if it's a final walk for a young dog. Definitely utilise the long lasting chews of puzzle feeders to promote calm though I do find them most effective and appreciated straight after a walk
