Does anyone use this or have any recommendations? Our puppy is 17 weeks old now, when she came to us her paw pads were like velvet as she hadn't been walking outside. Now they are starting to feel "worn in" just wondered if there is anything worth buying to keep them soft or should I just leave her be? It's not bothering her at all, it's just me noticing it and to me it's like us having dry, rough feet lol but I guess it's normal for dogs?

Some dogs have feet like hooves, some keep them nice and soft. I have one of each, they are the same breed, oddly enough.

I use one some Nuxe Balm on one of them, especially in winter because they crack and bleed, but be warned that it will be licked off. Also, some commercial sprays for paws contain formaldehyde, so you have to check the label.

Also cocoa butter is dangerous for dogs, so avoid that as well.

I use Pawz wax on our dog. Started last winter as the salt can bother them. He gets it on once a week

They’re better off being hard... for walking...

Pads need to harden as dogs mature to walk on hard and rough surfaces without pain. Leave we'll alone unless they split to the point of bleeding. Minor surface cracks are normal.
