Dog bark recorder

So I have a lovely rescue for the last three months and am building up to leaving him on his own for short periods. I have camera that allows me to see part of the room when I’m not there but due to the shape of the room and furniture I can’t always see him. I was wondering if there is a recording device that would let me know if he barked or became distressed. I don’t really want to listen to the full time if he silent. Just want to know when he’s not. Does such a thing exist or am I going about it wrong. Thanks

Does the camera have a sound option? Our nest camera sends notifications when it hears barking

We have a sleep recorder app. It’s called sleep recorder. I think we had to upgrade to the full version but I can’t remember how much it is now. It only records noise above the baseline. We leave the radio on when we go out and it doesn’t pick that up.

When one of my rescues had separation anxiety and I needed to monitor how he was coping I just used a digital dictaphone.

These days a lot of the cameras have the option of two way communication and sound recording and notification as well, so that would be better, as you could tell exactly when/if he barks and see if there are any specific times/triggers.
