Puppy training on-lead

Does anyone have any helpful suggestions to stop my 9 month old lab getting so distracted by other dogs on-lead? Off-lead he's pretty good as his recall is improving and he is sensible when approaching other dogs and will either sniff them or have a little run around with them before coming back when I call him.. However on-lead if he sees another dog walking past he'll stop and stare at them before lunging at them to try and play and he's quite strong now so is literally yanking me around which is quite embarrassing especially as I'm heavily pregnant!! I always have treats in my hand as it helps to keep him walking alongside me and engaging with me, so pulling generally isn't an issue- but as soon as he sees another dog he doesn't care about the treats any more. I find I can no longer get his attention once he notices the other dogs. I even try to get him to sit and look at me before they walk past but it still doesn't work and I'm really starting to feel hopeless and embarrassed on every walk as it looks like I can't control my dog Sad

No answers but send solidarity! My lab is 4 months old and is the same. She goes crackers trying to pull to other dogs and couldn’t care less about me or any treats. Off lead she’s very jumpy too and rubbish recall when dogs and people are around. So I have to keep her on most of the time until other owners say it’s ok. She gets told off loads and it doesn’t deter her at all. She’s small now but I feel she’ll be pulling me over if she’s the same in 6 months time. Watching with interest!

Congratulations on your pregnancy Flowers I couldn’t even walk at then end of mine let alone control a big dog. Hope someone comes along to help you soon.
