Why does my puppy do this?

Can’t sleep and am just curious really.

I have a 5 month old cockapoo. He sleeps in the room with me. I don’t mind him sleeping on the bed but often when I put him up next to me, he chooses to move to the bottom
Of the bed and sleep there.

Then a lot of the time he’ll jumó of the bed and go and sleep by the closed door.

Why?

He's too hot. He's finding a cool spot to get comfy.

Too hot. Trying to find a breeze

Yep! Too hot.

My dogs are mega cuddle bugs but at night they refuse to be within a foot of me or DH as it's so hot.

Strawbsandcream2 · 06/06/2021 23:32

Ah ok! He’s now jumped back on the bed

As pps have said trying to find a cool spot.

Dogs tend to move around a lot at night anyway so it could also be to do with that.

My dog will usually sleep at the end of my bed rather than close to me. She is double coated so gets hot.

She also likes to have the sofa to herself. So if I sit on it when she's lying on it stretched out she'll more often than not move to one side and eventually just get off and move across the room; I just try not to feel hurt Grin

Hahaha yes my dog does this! I also try not to take it personally. He’s so cute I always forgive him.

Ours has a little routine, she'll start off in an uncomfortable corner of the room, then at 2.30 am she'll leap on the bed to check we are both OK, then go to her bed, then end up on ours at the end of the bed at some point.

At night if we are watching TV she'll lie on the couch and then at some point, huff hugely, heave herself up and totter over to the other side of the room...like its a huge imposition but someone told her she had to do it. Odd little thing.
