Dog rucksack/sling

Hi

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a rucksack for carrying a Shih Tzu?

With summer finally arriving we are hoping to get out and about for some long walks and she just doesn't have the capacity to walk for more than half an hour especially if its very warm.

She also much prefers to walk off lead so will protest against being on a lead by refusing to walk as far as she can. I have sore elbows from carrying her home from half way round on walks so was wondering if anyone has had success with a dog rucksack/sling or if she would end up over heated and uncomfortable.

I keep getting pop up ads on instagram for dog rucksacks but haven't seen any in real life in a pet shop.

I don't have one (my dog is 29kg!), but everything I have bought from Mountain Dog has been great. There's a few different carriers on there.

Amazon sell loads of different ones. I have one for my little old Yorkie but she’s smaller than your little girl. Best to read the reviews as some say they carry your size little one .

Thank you both for the recommendations - I will take a look. Instagram ads never seem like the best source of information so great to have your views.

We have one called a K9 Sport Sack - it’s great because the dog faces forwards with their paws over your shoulders. Ours loves it, and it means I can transport him on the bike easily. They’re a bit pricier than some, but very well made and supportive for the dog.

I bought it in March to use in the pre-vaccination socialisation period for my puppy and for those early walks when he couldn't go for very long - it is definitely much more comfortable than carrying him.

However, now he can walk for longer we don't use it anymore so I'm going to sell it. Let me know if you're interested in buying mine.
