Nosy about cars

Just being nosy, as I'm idly considering a new car. Currently have a Renault Scenic, plenty of space for greyhound in the boot, kids in the back (don't need car seats), or plenty of room for luggage in the boot, kids in the back. Not so great for greyhound, luggage and kids.

What do you drive that isn't a van but fits everything in? (I'll probably get a roof box, but I'm imagining I can buy something lovely and shiny).

With two large Lurchers and 3 teen dcs we had/have a Golf Estate with Barjo dog guard and tailgate guard. We just hire a roof-box for family holidays.

Loads of room for both dogs to be comfortable in the rear, big enough to tow our caravan, but not so big that I am having to drive a tank around town. (This was important to me as I had only just passed my driving test when we bought it.)

Thanks @PermanentlyDizzy I didn't think of hiring a box. Looks like I definitely don't have to buy a new car (will have to think of another reason!).

Old Landrover. Surprisingly easy to drive & no worries about muddy paws.
