Puppy prices coming down?

I heard someone mention puppy prices seem to be dropping a bit. Has anyone noticed that too? Any breeders on here to confirm?

Wow @toadstool32 that must be from a KC breeder? Sounds as if high puppy prices (like house prices?) are here to stay yet.

Decent breeders of our breed haven’t hiked up prices because they want to ensure the right homes. Not the highest price.
Contact the breed club. Don’t shop online.

Hello im not a breeder but have noticed prices going down now lockdowns lifting. Some sellers even quote ono on pups. Whilst some ask silly amounts even for older dogs.

Just looked on the dreaded Gumtree and there’s 3/4 dachshunds for £3k

So no I don’t think they are coming down.

I’ve been looking at kittens (although will rescue!) and mogs are being sold for upwards of £500!

Unfortunately we’re seeing a lot of lockdown puppies now appearing on Gumtree, for sale due to owners ‘change of circumstances’. They still want to get back what they paid though! It’s a real shame.

That’s not to say that everyone who got a puppy during lockdown is doing the same though.

I think prices may well come down but not until early next year.
