How often does your pup go out to pee?

My 6 month old pup is really quite erratic when it comes to toilet times. Sometimes he’ll hold it 2 hours, sometimes 3 and I generally don’t go beyond 3 hours.

Recently he’s digressed and has been going about an hour after coming indoors from doing one and it’s driving me mad!

How often do yours go out between walks when they’re at home to toilet? And what age are they?

Ours is nearly 4 months and holds it 2-3 hours during the day and sleeps through the night (around 12 hours). Scared to jinx it though as at some point, having had mo accidents at all since 11 weeks, he peed on the sofa! So I am holding my breath that this was a weird exception

When ours was that age, I still let him out every 2 hours even if he didn't ask to go, just to prevent accidents, though he was totally dry in the house from about 4/5 months of age.

I would pre-empt it and either take him to go for a wee in the garden after a walk, or set an alarm for about 50 minutes after you get back, and take him out then.

Mine is 14 weeks and will not wee or poo on a walk so as soon as we get back she's straight in the garden to go! I don't really time it to be honest, but I tend to take her out after eating, playing and naps and if dh goes out for a cigarette she'll follow him out. She will bark to go out for a poo but she just waits by the door for a wee so occasionally if we haven't seen her waiting by the door there is a little puddle there!
