Finally let out to have lunch and a drink inside, in town. One of our regular haunts has several floors, and floor to ceiling windows wrapping around. The bar's situated within the market area. We love people watching and, more so, doggy watching. Today, I pointed out to my husband a spaniel coming round the corner with a toy in his mouth. As he reappeared he didn't have the toy. We both noticed this, and I went to the door in the hope that if he'd dropped it I could pick it up and run after his mum to get him his [probably favourite] toy back. I didn't go outside, and didn't see it through the glass door. However, when we left an hour or so later I saw his toy on the pavement.
In normal times I'd have gone out of the pub to check his toy wasn't lying there, but I didn't have my mask on so didn't do that because of the hesitation due to covid rules. Now I really wish I had, although I know it's a bit pathetic to be caring so much that a dog I don't know hasn't got his toy any more (
maybe should have put this in AIBU). I did pick it up and put it on the nearby bench, because it was raining.
