Droopy eyes

My partner was just playing with the dogs and was a kicking a tennis ball about. He kicked it quite hard and unfortunately it hit the 11 month old show cocker in the face. He really yelped and now both eyes have gone red and droopy? I called the vet who said wait and see how he is (he's fine apart from his eyes) and if gets lethargic call them back. I'm obviously thinking all sorts and really worried. Has anyone had experience of similar??

Tbh I’d want him examined not just a wait and see.

That would worry me too. I hope all is ok. Droopy sounds odd. One red eye would make sense if the ball hit if in one eye.
Could you insist you want him seen? Disclaimer! I’m a worrier. Especially where my dogs are concerned. Blush

I've called again and they said it should settle down (bit like a black eye in humans) and unless he gets really lethargic, his eyes start bleeding or there's something obvious in his eye he should be fine. He's absolutely normal in himself otherwise. I'll give it another hour and take him down to the emergency vet if there's no change.
