Puppy diarrhoea

Hello,
I know there's absolutely no way to know what's wrong with StormPup. We've phoned the vets, been given Panacur and taken a sample to get tested.

I'm just looking for some stories to be honest of your pups who had bad poops for well over a week and it wasn't anything serious? Trying to calm myself down a wee bit!

I don't know why but I'm getting quite anxious/worried about it despite the vet seeming non-plussed Blush

I know it's easy to say, less easy to do, but you've done everything right, so try not to worry. Peckydog had horrid diarrhoea as a pup which turned out to be caused by giardia (parasites). Antibiotics and panacur sorted him right out. He's a chunky, hairy beast now, you'd never know how much I worried about him at the time.

Our puppy had awful poos for 2 weeks when we first got him (including blood and mucus in the poo). A round of antibiotics cleared everything up.

Make sure the puppy drinks to avoid dehydration. Our puppy didn't drink very much, so we made him lick ice.

Not what you want to hear but I would push for stool samples to be taken OP

Thanks everyone - dropped off a vial of poop with the vets today. No idea how long it will take to get the results back so fingers crossed it's something that can be fixed with antibiotics as the panacur doesn't seem to have done much!

Our Labrador pup had a couple of instances of this. Turns out, she just has a very sensitive stomach and needs the Purina Gastro kibble. Try not to worry.

Dpup had this after a week or so of bringing him home. We had him on chicken and rice for a week and it eventually got better. He's a happy, healthy 7 month old now. Smile
