Having lovely snuggles with my pup and his paws smell so good I could eat them 🤣
Why is it that dogs paws smell biscuity?

I've heard this but never noticed it myself.

Something to do with fungus maybe? Like how human feet can smell of cheese...

It’s a yeast buildup in/around the pads of their paws.

It’s nothing to worry about unless the dog is licking their paws constantly or biting at them - that would be a quick vet trip as it might be an infection.

That lovely image of biscuity paws has just being brutally ruined by the reality of 'yeast build-up'. Confused

Lonecatwithkitten · 13/05/2021 06:46

Mild biscuity smell is normal, strong sweet smell with moist areas between pads is abnormal.

TheVolturi · 13/05/2021 07:12

There is no moisture, or anything nasty. Just a lovely biscuity smell, way better than cheese!

Dpup says he's quite offended at the suggestion that he's mouldy or fungussy, or anything other than perfect! 🤣

Please pass on my apologies 😂

I love sniffing my dog's paws as well. I love it when they smell of grass.
