Where is your dog’s microchip?

I think my dog’s chip might have moved. I can feel a grain of rice type thing behind her left ear. I’m pretty sure that’s not where it was inserted but I didn’t actually watch it being done so can’t be sure. I thought it was between her shoulder blades. Should I get this checked by the vet?

They can move, yes. One of the checks in our Kennel Club obedience test was to prove you’d chipped your dog and one poor chap nearly failed because he couldn’t find it! It turned up several inches away from where he thought it was.

I can't feel my younger dogs so have no idea where it is, but my older boys is on his shoulder and very obvious.

They do move sometimes, 2 dogs ago ended up down his back somewhere.

The vet can check, but I wouldn’t go specially...
