Dog changing colour at 4 yrs old???

I have a Belgian mali cross. She's always been black, with white mark on her neck.
We have been noticing past few months a bit of brown tinge to her fur recently.
Think dark chocolate brown.
Today when we had 10 mins of sun , I've noticed she is actually dark brown with a black strip down her back .
Is this a possible thing? She's now 4 yrs old and I would of thought colour change of fur as a young pup?
I'm off to google but has anyone else had this with their pet?

We adopted a black staffy cross in March. She has been with the charity since October so this could be her summer coat coming out but I swear every day she is turning more and more brindle!
She turned 4 last month. Time will tell whether it's a summer thing or a 4 thing though!

He is officially 'wheaten red' ie ginger. In the winter he is more brown, a bit of time in the sun and he's blond. He's already lightened up this year and we have had minimal sun. He currently blonde with a ginger stripe down is back whether the hard coat is that hasn't been stripped yet.

She does like to spend her time lying in the sun. We noticed last year that her mane has blonde bits ( hopefully photo attached) She's got the usual white hair now on her chin know the feeling We had noticed though during the winter when she hit a certain light that she was brown wonder if it was the bath Couldn't find much on google as it all seemed to be about puppies. She's healthy so not worried about that But very intriguing

One of our Lurchers is getting her summer orange coat!! Usually tan she goes a definite orange!! I have never know such a sun worshipper ever....

I remember reading once this being a problem in showing black Persian cats, that rather than deep, inky black their coats are made actually dark brown from sun damage.

Our 4 yo black (with white front and paws) greyhound is getting white hairs on his back. The "snowstorm" effect on greyhounds is very attractive so I'm hoping he gets a lot more.
