If your dog travels in the car in a crate

Do you put their bed in it too? Our puppy sleeps in crate at night with her soft bed in it, blanket and soft toy. During day she generally sleeps by my feet or in the soft bed next to me.

Today we are off to vets for 2nd jabs and she will be going in the crate.... do I put her soft bed in the crate or just a blanket?

I have a piece of vet bed that lives in the car crate, and chuck in anything else that I think DDog would like suitable for the length of the journey.

Something soft and smelling familiar (like the blanket) sounds an excellent idea for a puppy

So no need to cart the whole soft bed lol... we will eventually have 2 crates one for car and one for bedtime so then car stuff for car one can stay ready!

We have a thick rubber mat in the crates in the car. They don't mind riding crated because we go out daily in the car for walks so they are used to it.

I use vet bed and maybe a blanket, they are easily cleaned after a mucky walk or if they have an accident

We’ve divide the boot so that one half forms a crate rather than putting a crate in. The sloping roof of the estate stops the back closing with a real crate. It was about £150 to get a fitted one.
She now has her space with padded liner, bed , water bowl and can still put her nose over to the occupants of the rear seats.
