If so, might be nice to go through it together? I'm getting a flatcoated retriever pup in two weeks (weekend of 15 & 16 May.

We also pick our Labrador pup up on 15th May 🥰. It feels like time is moving sooo slowly...

Oh, flatcoats are fabulous. Enjoy (and take out insurance).

@LimitIsUp. What colour? Have you chosen a name yet

Sadly I'm not getting a puppy, so I have to live vicariously

LimitIsUp · 03/05/2021 11:58

LadyCatStark - exactly the same time as me! I am looking forward to it but quite nervous because I am aware of how much work puppies are. Apparently the breeder currently has them sleeping without needing to toilet from 11.45pm to 6 am, which is great but only 6 hours uninterrupted sleep, and I do love my sleep

AlmostSummer21, I do like the livers but I am getting a black FCR, from a breeder I know and trust, who tries to build longuevity and good genes in her lines. Grandma and Grandad are still going strong aged circa 10 and 11

@LimitIsUp yes we’re expecting to be exhausted for a while, still DS didn’t sleep through or til later than 5am til he was 2 1/2 so easier than a baby 😂 DH suggested we each do an early get up at the weekend which is weird because he never offered when DS was a baby!

I’ve been spending all my time researching training etc and I feel ready now, just need him to be ready to come home!
