Does anyone recommend Bella and Toby website?

Hello,

Has anyone used this website. Seems expensive for beds but I like the "doughnut" idea for beds.

Is it a credible website? I looked on trust pilot but it isn't mentioned at all...

Thank you

If you’re still on the hunt for a dogs bed, I couldn’t recommend the Tuffies dogs nests highly enough. They’ve lasted amazingly well (nearly 10 years!) despite serious digging from Dbeagle and I’ve bought another 2 for different rooms

Thank you! I will look them up. 😃

Think carefully before ordering
I bought two of the 'donut' beds for my dogs, which were sent as two consignments, although I was only given one order number. This meant one was delivered to my house, and the other to the post office (as I had asked for the order to be), which was a little annoying.
The bed that was delivered to my home was opened and the instructions followed to allow the bed to take shape. It didn't. The bed is made up of chunks of foam in the bottom, so does not sit flat. If your dog is the 'nesting' kind, as they turn in the bed, the foam is likely to be pushed to the side and they will, essentially, be laying on the floor. The outer ring is also not one piece, meaning it does not conform to a uniform ring shape unless you make it do so.

I decided to return these beds, as they are not suitable for my dogs, and have had nothing but trouble. Bella and Toby are refusing to arrange a refund unless I send them photos from certain angles, for their supplier, which is ridiculous as they can take all the photos they want, from the required angles, if they just arrange a return as outlined on their website. The original email also suggests that I did not follow the instructions properly (it's not difficult) and the tone suggested any photos sent would be followed by 'advice' on how to make the bed flat. This is not acceptable.
My request for return was passed on to the sales manager, who has refused to answer my questions directly so I have had no option but to give them a week to arrange a return before I start a claim as I need my money back to purchase suitable dog beds.

Unfortunately, there is nothing positive I can say about this experience.

I bought one, well actually two, the second one was in error and the service was fine. They refunded the money before dispatching the accidental order, and the other bed arrived about a week later. It was fine We have two dogs, one who loves a donut bed, and a young terrier. Unfortunately he destroyed the bed in no time so it got binned.

So no bad things to say about the company or product, but sometimes I wish I could send the pup back for a refund! Grin

Having tried many many beds I love the Kirkland signature beds from Costco. And you can order online you don’t need to be a member. Wash brilliantly and really durable and don’t end up flat

Ridingthegravytrain · 10/09/2021 14:36

I looked at the donut ones as they keep popping up as adverts but reviews weren’t great

epponneee · 10/09/2021 19:26

I got one - it is ok, but a bit flimsy. my pup seems to mostly prefer lying on cold floor at the moment but he does use it from time to time. I wouldn't buy another to be honest

Floralnomad · 11/09/2021 01:08

Have to agree with @Ridingthegravytrain , we’ve had a round Kirkland dog bed for several years now and it’s still excellent , not gone remotely flat and washes well .

Absolutely don’t buy from Bella & Toby unless you can guarantee your dog will like the bed. The website states that you can return it - this is not true - they make it impossible. It all sounds great, they say just to give the bed to a rescue center rather than return it, then ask you for a photo as proof you have opened it. I have now sent the photos 5 times over 4 weeks. Apparently they still haven’t got them. I’d actually prefer they just said ‘No refunds,’ rather than waste my time and add frustration to my life. So, short answer, I’d never buy from them again, they don’t treat people with any respect and, to be fair, their beds are cheap and flimsy. Buy elsewhere.

Second the recommendation for Tuffies, they are fantastic quality.

I was seduced by all the testimonies on their website and bought their donut bed for my dog, but she refuses to use it. No idea why!

DforDogWoof · 13/10/2023 12:57

Do you mean their "calming" donut bed... the very fluffy one? If it is made well, I think that price is reasonable but that is a big "if". I haven't seem one in the flesh. However, I would say all that fluff is going to be a bit of a nightmare to care for and most dogs are not going to be keen. It is not a good fabric choice, IMO.

If you like a puffy and cosy donut dog bed, check out the Oslo Ring bed. Below is a link to the grey one but there are 3 other lovely colours too.

The soft velvety fabric is a much more sensible fabric for a dog bed yet still has that feeling of luxury but it is more sensible and suitable for year round use.

Please - for YOUR sake - read the one star reviews in TrustPilot. They are true.
