Harness recommendations

Getting ready for our cocker spaniel, first time owners... I've ordered easy peasy puppy squeezy book, got crate, bed, blanket, food she is currently on, bowls, toys, treats, brush, shampoo etc.

I'm overwhelmed with the choice of harnesses, collars, leads! The prices obv vary a lot, so I go cheap while she's little and growing or is expensive better quality? Do they adjust with the dog or do I have to measure her and buy more as she grows?

Also doorbells for toilet training, which are better ones that hang off door handle or ones they press on the floor?

Insurance - any recommendations... what level of cover do I need? What is average monthly and excess? Do I need a vet plan in addition?

Thanks in advance Smile

Perfect fit harness from dog games You buy individual sections as your dog grows.

I hate toilet bells Smile but the ones that hang on the door. The idea is that the opening of the door makes them ring so the dog picks up the idea quicker, bells ring door opens.

Re insurance if you can afford it get lifetime cover with no limits on it.

I do not have a vet plan as I worm count and do not used medication unless needed. It is a personal choice.

Enjoy your new puppy. I am sure there will be people along to give more specifics on insurance and vet plans.

Another vote for the Perfect Fit Harness from Dog Games, it's the best one in my opinion.

If you have a cat be warned the dog may ring the doorbell for you to let the cat in and out!

Perfect fit is great. Has really helped our one year old lab.

Haha no cats but will introduce her to neighbours cat who is a frequent visitor in our garden....although maybe not once she sees a dog!

Will look at perfect fit now!

We have a little pug and he has the doodlebone harness, which is extremely easy to put on (just like a little jacket). But we took him to a pet shop to get him measured for what fits. He used to have the x-small size, but now moved up to medium.
