New puppy - what do I need?

We get a puppy in a few weeks time. I have two other dogs but they were rescue dogs and it has been over 20 years since I last had a puppy.

If you’ve had a puppy recently what are your must buys and don’t buys?

So far I only have:
Name tag
Puppy collar
Harness (no idea what size to get for a puppy)
Puppy food

Crate/dog pen?
Training pads?
Vetbed/vetfleece?

Have poo bags, food bowls from other dogs.

I thought about posting on my local FB site to see if anyone had a crate to sell then wondered if it was a bit foolish at the moment with so many dog thefts? Flagging up that I’ll have a puppy? I live somewhere where everyone knows everyone.

I guess if I get a new crate or pen I can sell it if it doesn’t work out for us.

Excuse me for jumping thread but can you guys recommend a soft tiny collar for a 9 week JRT? He that will tolerate a harness and even clothes (the kids!) but not the collar, he goes mad!
