Car seat harness recommendations for 1yr old LabX

Our nearly 1year old puppy LabX has always travelled in the back boot of an estate car with a dog guard up. She’s very calm and thinking ahead to summer camping hols, longer car journeys we would like to try her on the back seat between the kids in a car seat belt harness. Knowing her she would just falls asleep with her head on a kids lap as she’s such a soppy dog. Any thing we should look for in buying a good car seat harness for a medium size strong breed? I’ve googled and like most things prices vary a lot, so I’m not sure what to look for. We walk her using a mekuti harness which she’s fine wearing.

We got ours from Halfords. Took ddog and tried on in the carpark in the car!

I bought an attachment that goes on their normal harness. Absolutely brilliant and so much less faff! You attach it like a lead to their normal harness and plug it into the seat belt as per normal

We've got the same as @nobranothanks
We have a 35kg staffy cross and just plug her in like the kids! It comes with a few different seatbelt plug options and clips to her harness. Easy! She loves her cuddles with the kids in the back.
We needed to free up boot space for the tent and gear. We also got a seat cover for the back seat to protect from mud, hair and god knows what else.

As above, use her usual harness attached to the seat belt lead. Think we got it from Pets at Home.

There are not many dog harnesses that would be strong enough to hold a 35kg dog in the event of a crash.

Most will tear open and launch the dog at the front seats.

I would choose very carefully - looking for one that has been specifically crash tested.

@SirSniffsAlot thanks. We have chosen carefully. I wouldn't put us, the kids or the dog at risk.

A crash-tested harness will set you back around £70.

My dog wears a Ruffwear front-range harness and it clips onto a the seatbelt.

Got one that attaches to normal harness

Thanks for all the input. We’ve ordered one that has been crash tested, and will try it out soon.
