Grooming tools for a double coated dog

Hi, getting a Golden retriever ok n 2 weeks. I do not want to use a furminator as I have heard that this ruins the top coat.
Could I have some recommendations about what is safe to use please?

We have a short haired dog and use a Groomi with her as she moults constantly. It's been fantastic, I'm pretty sure it's fine for double coated dogs but worth checking.

I use an undercoat rake (NOT furminator which is basically a stripping knife on a handle) and a flea comb.
Slickers are good too though mine finds it uncomfortable, I think possibly because she’s double coated but ‘fine’ if that makes sense, I think it scratches her skin.
She has an undercoat and a longer top coat but the top coat is fine and silky and thin.

An undercoat rake.. the Mikki anti tangle rake on Amazon does the job. I have a Eurasier with a VERY thick double coat and it does the job brilliantly. Furminators are useless on a double coat ( I have doub;e coated cats too and gave up on it then!)
