Dog conjunctivitis

I think pup might have conjunctivitis, last night she had some discharge which I gently wiped off, not unusual as she gets dirty eyes a lot, but this morning her eye looks red and a bit swollen. I haven't seen her rubbing it, she seems happy enough but googling has really worried me. Is it something which requires an emergency vet, or will it wait til tomorrow til I can phone our regular vet? Some websites say get dogs seen 'immediately' as it can be dangerous to leave it, but does that just mean get her seen soon and don't try home remedies, or as is in her her to the vet NOW? With her being our first dog I'm like a new mum and want to be sure I'm giving pup the best care without leaving anything to chance! Thanks.

I'd bathe the eye regularly today with warm salty water and get a vet appointment for tomorrow for the eye drops.

Is your vet def closed today? Quite a lot of vets are now open 7 days a week.

Thanks for your advice! Yes I've checked, unfortunately the vet is one of a chain and they're all closed today. I washed it earlier with salty water so I'll keep going with that for today, thank you.
