Toilet training in very cold weather

New doggily dog arrived today, she is of course supremely intelligent, and we adore her. We have been told to take her out for the toilet every hour, but, it’s freeezing! We are cold, she is shivering! I didn’t want to use puppy pads, but didn’t think about the cold! How do we do this?

If she’s not bothered then I wouldn’t worry. My first needed me 24/7. My second pup didn’t mind being without me at all!

If she's happy unsupervised, leave her to it and count your blessings Grin

@Tankflybosswalkjam

No accidents inside today AT ALL! So proud of her!

As we head for bedtime, can someone check have I got this right?

Keep her busy till she’s v tired, and has had a wee

Put her to bed in her crate in the kitchen leaving doors open

Go to bed myself

Get up 3 ish and take her for a wee

Go back to bed and get up as normal (6:45)

Is that right? I feel odd about leaving her unsupervised.

We crated at night with the door shut and she was fine and went the whole night without a murmur. We did have a little fluffy sheep with a heartbeat to keep her company though! I think with the door open she'd have been out and gone to the loo on the kitchen floor. She did have enough room in the crate next to her bed for a puppy pad but she never used it

I wouldn't wake a sleeping pup. Just be ready to leg it down there at the first wimper. Lost Archer pup arrived in the snow. Poor thing had new home and had never seen snow before. It was so cold standing there saying hurry up in a hopeful tome. She caught on pretty quickly once I removed all the rugs!
