Will this ever get boring? (Light hearted)

I always had dogs growing up and I became a lockdown statistic by getting a puppy in June. (Yes I made sure we had post lockdown plans in place). Looks like we will now be WFH full time anyway before I get slated.
I got up today again as you always and I am still so in love. The greeting from my pup every morning is like my daily sunshine. I sing to
Him and we have a cuddle with coffee. He's still sleeping in a crate but with open doors no so he runs out when he hears me come down. I get up before him most days
The sheer joy of seeing him every day. It's lovely. Will I ever get bored of that love? I think not. Happy Saturday 🐶.

Happy Saturday to you too. Ten years in, no it never gets boring and I still take more photos of my 2 dogs than anything else.
They represent pure joy for me. ❤️❤️🐾🐾

It never gets boring getting a greeting from a dog.

Even in the middle of the night when mine gets up, flaps his ears and comes within an inch of my face so that I can feel his whiskers to say hello before going back to sleep is still comforting.

I have a gorgeous 4 year old Springer and she literally makes my heart sing 💕 May it always be so!

Clymene · 27/02/2021 18:35

My dog sleeps in my bed (and I don't care if you think that's disgusting, nor am I interested in your opinion) and he is still thrilled to see me every morning! Once your children are teenagers, you really need a dog to make you feel loved and appreciated

AlTempleton · 27/02/2021 18:42

It never gets boring. Mine is six years old and I love her more than I love my husband Grin

scochran · 27/02/2021 18:44

I get in the dog bed with her every morning and sing her a song about how much I love her while the kettle boils...

LunaHardy · 27/02/2021 18:44

Never gets boring. We've had our dog for nearly 3 years now and his whole body wags when he sees me. Follows me around wherever I go and nudges his nose under my hands to hint for fuss. He also sits on my cold anaemic feet Grin I love him to bits!

BorisandHarriet · 27/02/2021 18:53

The best part of my day, everyday, is the doggy welcome!

MrsBDarcy · 27/02/2021 19:32

Yay! Great news. I don't mind dogs in beds either ☺️. I have a teenager who the dog lets cradle him in his arms and melts all the angst and teenage sullen face away
He's uncomplicated, pure love ❤️

Mine was15 and it was always the highlight of my day to wake up next to her and tootle downstairs in the early morning sun for a tinkle in the garden (her) and a brew & Classic FM (me). Lucky me.
Enjoy every moment. Only lent, never given.

MrsBDarcy · 27/02/2021 22:14

Someone said this about children to me. They're only on loan. And I guess the same with dogs. My teen is already saying "but he'll die one day. I can't bear it". I try to answer that we have to make his life the best we can as he's ours for a short while. God. I love him.

This thread is beautiful ☺️
My Rommie rescue puppy has been with us since the weekend and after a fearful first couple of days now follows me everywhere, loves a cuddle, and gives me a lovely morning wiggle in the garden first thing. Magic. I still tear up missing our old girl but it’s wonderful to have a dog around again

Allington · 28/02/2021 12:27

DDog sleeps with me. She knows that when the alarm goes off it is time to wake up and she is always soooo excited Grin she lies on my chest and wants to play. Then I let her into DD's room and she wakes up the grumpy teen by chewing DD's ears which makes grumpy teen laugh and wake up happy...

SpringersLoveSofas · 02/03/2021 12:29

It never, ever gets boring.

Every days is filled with mutiple dog moments that are

a) exactly the same as every day before
AND STILL...
b) the most magical moments of my day

Greetings, even when I've just been in another room. The way he sleeps with his head on my lap. The way he rolls over for a belly rub. The way he digs all the throws off the sofa before settling down on it (they are there to protect the sofa from him!). The way he sits next to me on the floor and leans against me. The way he nuzzles my ear, if it's ever within reach. The way he rests his head on my knee and looks up at me for fuss. His joyful grin when we walk side by side outdoors and he looks up at me. The gusto with which he gives a 'high five' when asked. All of it.

At four years old I could have another decade with him. But a hundred decades would not be enough. When he goes, I will break into a thousand little pieces. Until then, we will both laugh freely and often.

I love this, what a great start to the day.

I have just lost my springer after 11 years. I loved every single minute with her. I have hundreds of photos of her, mostly in a puddle or a bush or a tree and every one filled me with joy. Enjoy every minute with your pup.

Thermalpants · 02/03/2021 13:11

^ I love it when our dog does this too @SpringersLoveSofas. Totally melts my heart.

Ddog is snoozing away next to me with his head resting on me. Could sit here all day with him like this. I definitely think he is my heart dog. Don’t think I could love another dog the same way. 💖

TheVanguardSix · 02/03/2021 13:19

When my friends asked if they could see photos of the kids and one wondered do you still have a home or are you living in a park? I realised I needed to dial back on the dog photos... sharing them, not taking them. Grin

Going on 6 years here and still, he's the only one in the house who really gets me. Smile I just love how he totally stretches out his entire body the moment I sing. It's like a big here comes the love stretch. My singing leaves cracks in the plaster but my boy thinks I'm Callas!
