Getting my dog spayed

Has anyone got any experience of getting their dog spayed when you have young children
(1 year old)? We’ve booked our dog in to be spayed next week and just looking for advice on how to keep both dd and ddog safe

We had our dog neutered a few weeks ago and my DS is 2. Everything was fine. I don't really understand what you mean by keeping them safe?

My worry is the dog will snap due to being in pain or baby will chase the dog

Ah okay, I see. My dog didn't once snap and my son doesn't really chase him. I did keep my dog in the kitchen alone (I obviously checked on him) for a few days though, just so he would rest properly. I guess that's the only solution, to separate them for abit while your dog heals. I think they all deal with being in pain differently though. After the first 12hours, you wouldn't have known my dog had even had it done.
