Messy whiskers ... messy eaters! The downside of raw eating.... what do you do?

Well our wee dachshund thinks this is the best ever - four weeks into raw food and he is super happy!

But - as a wire-haired little fella - he ha long whiskers which are getting a little matted in places on occasion. Took me a while to realise it was the raw food rather than him rolling in stuff in the park ... which he loves!

What do you do? I've images of wiping his face down with a warm flannel after eating like a toddler but does seem a little excessive....

Nothing wrong with washing his face- you may not need to do it every time! Mine doesn't have this problem, so I can't really advise, but he does enjoy having his face rubbed with the towel when he's been out on a cold or wet day. We make a game of it, so it's no bother.

I would just wipe his face :) I don't think it's excessive and it's no different to wiping a dog down after a mucky walk really.

Much better to keep it clean than to risk him getting matts.
