I love my dog

I just need to share it. I’m autistic, I struggle with most humans (not that they can tell sometimes). But I can just be me with my dog. He gets me. We have a bond.

I think he knows. I tell him all this all the time. And he always wants a cuddle - and he’s so easy to cuddle. If I stop cuddling or patting him I get an indignant paw which makes me smile.

We are so lucky to have dogs. Every single one is amazing. We often don’t deserve them.

Thank you for reading this. I just want you, and him, to know how amazing he is.

He loves pats and cuddles
He loves chasing balls and reflections
He loves cheese and salami
He loves walks (of course)
He loves being with me. Always
He needs me to protect him from the scary elderly cat.

How come dogs get it so right and humans constantly get it so wrong?

My girl was a rescue breeding dog. When we got her she was bald in places, and so skinny with long saggy teats. She’s all filled out and fluffy now..she’s also got an ear with a floppy tip, missing teeth, and bandy legs - but she’s the most beautiful girl in the world to me

@Scautish when you said the ‘indignant paw’ when you stop petting him I knew it was a Border Collie! I have one too, they’re just the best aren’t they!?

The photo I posted was taken by my dog walker/behaviourist who takes great photos,although of course my dog loves the dog walker to bits so will happily do whatever is asked. It's always me who's playing catch up
