Dog Bed Recommendations

Hi All,

My DDog has recently destroyed her bed. She has a crate that she sleeps in when left on her own which has lots of blankets, but at night had a soft basket bed (best way I can describe it) in our bedroom.

The other morning, she just decided to destroy it. She is a real chewer, although a lot better now than she was.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a dog bed for a 20kg dog that she won't be able to chew through? She will gnaw on everything; our wooden dining table has been chewed, our leather sofa has been chewed, blankets get holes in them, soft toys are pulled apart within seconds.

I promise she is a good dog! She gets plenty of exercise as well as mental stimulation, as I know bored dogs chew. Generally, she only chews her toys but will sometimes become fixated on something and will not leave it alone until it has been annihilated! Which is what happened with the bed; we heard her chewing so got up to remove her from the situation, fed her, were getting ready to take her out and at some point she had snuck back into the room and pulled it entirely apart.

Thank you x

Plastic bed was the only thing we could have when Jaydog was with us,just comfy it up with fleecy blankets .

@Mrsjayy Thank you. I have looked at them but am sure she will chew them as well. DP got a new washing up bowl for Christmas (exciting, I know) and she instantly tried to get to it. It has a lovely tooth mark!

I might just have to give it a go and if she destroys it, well, at least I know!

Oh my dog had a gnaw on it but it was intact he used to get fancy pants beds but he went through them he would destroy them. My friends dog isn't "allowed" a bed just blankets on the floor so that might need to be an option.

Sturdiest we found was B&M it was solid his previous was a pets at home lasted 3months.

@Mrsjayy I really appreciate your advice. Hopefully she won't be able to completely ruin a plastic one, then.

She is presently sleeping on blankets on the floor, but will regularly come up to me in the early hours to try to sleep on our bed instead! She isn't being allowed to, but I think the lack of a proper bed might be the cause.

Tuffies do a chew proof bed. I think it’s money back guarantee if your dog destroys it!

@ShouldHaveCouldHaveWouldHave Marvellous! I will have a look. Thank you.
