Any recommendations for best type of kitchen bin that dog can’t get into?! Needs to be out as no space for one in cupboards unfortunately!

I’ve got a brabantia soft close bin for same reason old dog was a bin raider. It’s not huge but I don’t like rubbish hanging about long. Def get something you can lock shut if you’ve got a bin raider.

I've been recommended the simple human lockable bin on another thread. I've just ordered it so I'll update soon!

We have a lockable bin, blooming hound destroyed it. It's now behind 2 baby gates until we've done the kitchen and got one in a drawer.
She's 6, no flipping excuse!

We have to baby locks on everything.. for the cat. Even the toilet lid - he forces it up to drink and falls in 😡. We had to do the same with our lab though... our newborn came home to the MOST baby proofed house ever.

We've got a simply human bin. Had it for years and still going strong.
The lock is now wearing a bit loose but we were able to just buy the lid to replace rather than having to shell out for a while new bin.
Good quality bin bags for it too. We get ours from amazon on repeat purchase.

Are the simplehuman bins heavy enough to not be knocked over?! 🤣

Mine isint but I've got it tucked into a space he can't get to. There are lots of different ones. Mine is this one here www.argos.co.uk/product/7277070

When I bought my kitchen bin soft close top I put pepper on top of the lid, waited a couple of days before using it. problem solved . dog never touches bin.

Sitdowncupoftea · 09/02/2021 14:54

One of mine as a pup was a bin raider. I bought various bins he would still go in them. How old is your dog. I moved the bin in garage until he was older he even figured putting his foot on pedal would open it. Then I got a bin where you touch the lid he figured that out too. To me none are dog proof depending on the size of your dog. I asked the age as mine was a puppy at the time once he hit a year old he got out of his bin diving habit.
