Hi, we’re getting a puppy at the end of the year and I’m wondering when to upgrade my car basically. Currently have a hatchback but getting a golden retriever so obviously they won’t fit in the boot for long and a crate won’t fit. Would you advise getting an estate (what we’re leaning to) before getting the dog or would a medium hatchback do for a short while (thinking next summer). We live in a village and school, walks, vet etc all within walking distance and obviously when the kids aren’t in the car the dog can go in the back.
The only thing putting me off is if we keep the hatchback until next summer we can keep it as the second car whereas if we swap now I’ll be trading it in. Currently have a much smaller/older second car.
