Maggie is OBSESSED with washing machines and tumble dryers. She will stand in front of them when they're on, watching the washing going round. She can't even see anything when the tumble dryers on as it's not a glass door, but she still watches it. When she sees us coming down to the kichen with washing she turns and runs back to he kitchen to watch the machine. She ''helps'' us load and unload them, and can actually close the dryer door for us. When we were on holiday in self catering, she watched the machine there too.

She 'bites' the hot air coming from a hair dryer.

She is totally and absolutely obsessed with playing bubbles. She gets a great exercise routine and will run after them and jump at them. All the kids up our local park know her and love her....when I go up there, there's loads of kids saying ''Mummy, there's Maggie playing bubbles'' and she loves it when kids join in with her.

So what quirks does your dog have that make you laugh and love them?

One of ours would take a terrible sulk for no apparent reason, we would be sitting minding our own business and he would get up, throw a filthy look at one of us and go directly as close to the other as possible and make nice, fussing, being super good and getting comfy and all the while keep looking at the "bad" person as if to really teach them a lesson. He was a GRetxLab. Then just as soon as he liked he'd be back to normal and nice as pie to both of us! :o :o

One of my shepherds was a right ninny, very much a one woman dog, and needy as fuck....until I was not well...migraine, flu, general misery, any time I was under the weather he would be transformed into Super Nurse Dog, fussing over me, watching, lying as close as possible, chivvying people out to keep the room quiet, just the best.

The other one used to try to shut us all in the sitting room and lie against the door so we could not escape!

Current dog is just settling...he's a bit needy and anxious but if he wants something he comes right up, puts his feet on the chair/on your lap and then will boop you right in the chest or face with a paw or nose....there's no mistaking that!

Got 2 black labs. The eldest is about 14 years old. Couldn’t get a better natured family dog, he’s 100% safe around children, I had a few dogs all have been good but have limits, this one is bomb proof. He’s a fantastic dog, preschooler second word was the dogs name, dog has never snatched food from a child, dog is very careful not to tread on baby rolling round floor. The dog however loves the babies socks and if one should fall off he quietly picks it up and eats it. Baby very rarely wears matching socks. DS had dummies, many many dummies, because if you didn’t pick the dummy up quick dog would and then try to eat it. I once got quite a way on the dog walk when dog started choking and after a few minutes out came a partially chewed dummy. Just baby socks and dummies, not toys, laundry or anything else.

@longtompot he’s a papillon, 4kgs and 25cms to the withers (obviously his ears add on a lot of extra height!). He’s basically more of a cat with an attitude than a dog 😂

Ddog has to carry 2 things round the house. A blanket & toy or vet bed & blanket, any combination as long as there are 2 things! The only thing he likes on netflix is Call my Agent, he's not fussed by anything else but seems to like the French voices.

Maggie tries to pick up two toys at once but never manages it. But it's hysterical watching her try!

Our cocker loves pushing into hedges broadside, then shuffling along the full length at half speed, legs slightly bent, with a look of ecstasy on his face, eyes half shut. He has been doing it with his coat on this week, so not an itchy thing as we first thought. In our previous house we had 6ft privet hedges both sides of the long back garden, he would go down one side and back up the other first thing in a morning Grin

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 15/02/2021 14:13

Our dog is a talker. Rarely barks but has a fantastic collection of grumbles, harrumphs and low-level yowls. It's very comical. She sounds like an old man. She also dances on two legs around the kitchen at feeding time. Love her to bits 🥰

Mine chases planes
He’s never caught one but I admire his optimism

habibihabibi · 15/02/2021 18:05

Mine is very affectionate poodle cross and spreads his love to visitors and sits like a cat on their laps or leans into them. It is like it's his personal mission to get everyone on the planet to like dogs.

Juanbablo · 16/02/2021 10:22

Ours is scared of the cat. The cat is bigger than the dog but being a JRT they are supposed to have a high prey drive and whatnot. Yesterday the cat was stood in the kitchen doorway and dog was in the hall. I called him to come into the living room, he had to pass the kitchen to get to me and he had to muster up the courage. He couldn't decide whether to make a run for it or go slowly and quietly and hope the cat doesn't notice 😂

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I love reading these.
My spaniel cross avidly watches the television. Loves watching football and the news. But...If someone comes on he doesn't like the look of, he will growl and grumble until they leave the screen.
He always always does this with certain people. Donald Trump, BoJo, Matt Hancock to name a few. Watching the Covid updates are hilarious. He will growl when Boris is talking, then stop when Professor Whitty takes over, then growls again when the focus is back on Boris. He is a very shrewd judge of character.
When we were looking to sell our house a few years ago we based which estate agent we instructed on who the dog liked best. Smile

@Hoppinggreen

My father lived in Australia in the 1950s - I think maybe Melbourne? Anyway, when the city suburbs were edged by the bush, and there were far fewer aeroplanes. He lived near the airport, and one of his dogs would chase aeroplanes with serious intent, and disappear for several days on end into the bush, returning exhausted and dehydrated Grin

halfbakedkate · 17/02/2021 11:37

I love the dogs that chase planes with serious intent. I would love to know what is going through their heads at the time. What they actually think will happen if they 'catch' one 😂

Hoppinggreen · 17/02/2021 11:52

Luckily he’s a bit fat and lazy so he doesn’t chase them far
