BiteyDog has just come back from the vets having had a dental clean under GA.

He's had a bit of food hand fed by me but otherwise he won't look at me at all. I am so not his pal for putting him through that Sad

God the guilt is awful.

Would cheese work?

I do sympathise - nothing worse than being cold-shouldered by a creature that gets excited about cat poo and doorbells. Really puts you in your place.

HappyThursdays · 02/02/2021 19:20

How awful! Poor you :(. Is his mouth sore still?

Wilsonwilson · 02/02/2021 19:26

Poor dog and poor you, I'm, sure he will be less humphy soon.

Ludo19 · 02/02/2021 20:53

No one does a huff quite like a dog or cat. It hurts me deeply when my cats go in the huff with me and I do anything to win them over. A person, well not so much, they're left to get on with it. I'm sure you'll be their favourite person by tomorrow, all will be forgiven.

GreyDoggo · 02/02/2021 20:56

Is it perhaps the after effects of the GA? Greydog had stitches with sedation and was subdued for a day and a bit. I had to bring him food in (my) bed and he looked very sorry for himself.

dudsville · 02/02/2021 20:57

My mum went on holiday once and when she came home her dog actually grumbled at her fur nearly 24 hours! She gave him a massive bone in the end to take his mind off of her absence!

midnightstar66 · 02/02/2021 21:00

I don't think midnightpup has ever forgiven me for the time I cut a nail a bit short, nothing serious - a couple of drips of blood from something that bleeds profusely when done properly but I swear she hates me. That was over 6 months ago.

Happytentoes · 02/02/2021 21:01

Happydog was very sulky when I came home from a few days in hospital 😳 I was so excited to see him and he shunned me completely. I had to laugh. Typical dog though, he’d forgotten to sulk by next morning.
Biteydog will come round once the drugs have gone through his system.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 02/02/2021 21:02

Mine was the same after a GA, I don’t think it’s you I think they feel drained and a bit unwell, she was absolutely fine the following day and was back to adoring me!!

BiteyShark · 02/02/2021 21:18

Thanks everyone. It's so hard when you have spent all day worrying about them. And he does do a good huff when he wants to Sad

I think I might have been forgiven just a little bit as he has decided my foot is ok as a head rest Grin

I got irrationally hurt (my feelings) by my dog the other day

He growled at me, something he would never normally do. Turns out he had a sore ear but boy did he hurt my feeling. Grin

BiteyShark · 03/02/2021 07:38

I am so glad it's not just me who feels rejected by a huffy dog.

But phew, looks like he still loves me as this morning he is back to being my shadow and will look at me again with those feed me eyes Grin

He’s a spaniel, isn’t he? Mine can sulk very dramatically! Hope he’s feeling better now!

Happytentoes · 03/02/2021 07:45

Good to hear your both back to your old selves 😁

Happytentoes · 03/02/2021 07:46

You’re not your 🙄

Yes he's a WCS. He does seem back to his normal self which includes huffing at me when he thinks I am working being boring Grin
