Dry food storage

Hi everyone,
Looking for recommendations for storing kibble, to keep it fresh. Am sick of taping up the bag! We have a large breed, so buy 15kg bags. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

I keep ours in two metal lidded dustbins in pull out drawers under the worktop in the rear mudroom, that seems to work well and is cat proof too

The big metal dustbins that is, not the sort of composting ones!

Massive bucket from the Happy Dog kibble company that breeder uses. Huge. We also buy 15kg bags.

We use one similar to this, it holds the 15kg bag with some spare room too

They almost store a full bag. I haven't noticed any problem with freshness. To ensure the labs don't help themselves I keep them in a shut room (utility room) but also I don't fill the bins right up to the top and turn the bins so the hinge is at the front so harder for a nosy snout to open. A dog left to their own devices though could probably knock the bin over.

I keep an old plastic cup in each bin and some old kitchen scales on the side.

This works for me but I guess it depends on your dog.

Fair enough. Where ours is kept means I have to look at the bloody thing so it was really £ spent on being eye pleasing

@tasty That’s probably worth it then. Ours will be hidden in the pantry, so don’t mind what it looks like. Although I have now wasted a lot of time on the SimpleHuman website grin
