He was a 15 week old tan, black mask Great Dane and he melted my heart.Far too big a breed for me to manage but he was stunning Smile.I love that breed and ive never seen one in the flesh before.I had a lovely stroke and he was v friendly, really brightened my day.

Awww that's lovely. I've never stroked a Great Dane either, though I know what you mean. I had a fuss of a huge St Bernard puppy a while ago and it really made my day as well!

AprilThe8th · 26/01/2021 11:26

His coat was so soft and sleek

I love giants! I can't imagine I'll ever have one, but I can dream!

WINKINGatyourage · 26/01/2021 11:39

You met scooby doo!

CaraDuneRedux · 26/01/2021 11:42

Our neighbour across the road has one - gorgeous dog!

StormBaby · 26/01/2021 11:45

We have a giant breed and you’d be surprised, they’re very lazy

AprilThe8th · 26/01/2021 11:46

@WINKING he wasn't called scooby doo but he looked so much like him!

Aww, I love Great Danes but I'm not allowed one. DH had two as a child and he said that you become a celebrity when walking one as everyone wants to say hello.

Soubriquet · 26/01/2021 12:35

Giant breeds are one that I would happily fuss but would never dream of owning

Way to big for me!

I used to work in a rescue kennels, and we had a Great Dane cross Irish wolfhound come in.

He was only 9 months old but already taller than 6 feet when he stood on his back legs!

He was a softie but full of energy. I went to go in to walk him and he crouched down to sneak in between my legs, but stood up before he finished, which left me sat on his back backwards!

I had to shout someone to stop the dog because he was determined to keep walking with me on his back

Hoppinggreen · 26/01/2021 12:36

Oh wow, I would have loved to meet him
I had a GD cross Boxer once who was lovely but nuts

MonkeyPuddle · 26/01/2021 12:42

Oooh that would make my day too.
My cousin has an Irish wolfhound, he’s a lovely great lump.

He definitely needed to grow into those paws.He was as big as a labrador!
