So, do you organise puppy insurance before or after their first visit to the vets?

You should get insurance as soon as possible because a lot of companies have an exclusion at the beginning for illnesses.

For example my insurance with Petplan had a 2 week initial period when any illness or issue you went to the vet about would cause an exclusion as a pre existing condition.

You want cover to start the day you take ownership of them, and make sure they come with a 4 week cover note from the breeder too - gives you options if something comes up in the 14 day exclusion period.

Get it ASAP, puppies always manage to get themselves in trouble!

Before, because if the Vet discovers something and puppy not insured then they will say that it was pre existing.

If you bought the puppy from a reputable breeder you should have approx 8 weeks free insurance anyway.
