How long to rest after neutering

Hello everyone, how long did you wait until you started taking your dog for walks again after being neutered? And how long after did you let them off the lead for a good run about/play fetch etc? The vet said to wait 3 days but that seems a bit soon to me?

Ours could go out for a short slow lead walk after the initial checkup which was a couple of days afterwards but as that made him more 'bouncy' we didn't bother.

For off lead walking we had to wait until he had the final checkup which I think was just under 2 weeks afterwards.

Ours went for a walk the day after, but just a short 20-30 minute lead walk. He honestly didn't want more than that.

The day after, he went back to "normal length" walks but we kept him on lead until his check-up, which was 10 days after his operation. Once he'd been checked over, we let him off lead again.

He was absolutely fine and back to normal after 48 hours.

I think it depends on vet. I was told 10 minutes walks only for 10 days.
