Toilet training advice

Hi everyone,

I recently got a new puppy- she has been home with me for 3 days and settled in pretty well! She is 8 weeks old and has just had her first set of vaccinations.

My dilemma is that I have a garden, but it is a front garden which doesn’t have fully restricted access, so theoretically an unvaccinated dog could have been in the area (although I have never seen it happen, no foxes etc and neighbours dogs who walk past are all fully vaccinated and even then don’t go into my garden area.) Her breeders taught her to go outside so she cries to be let out and is very reluctant to go inside and seems upset when it happens. Is the risk of taking her out into my garden too great to take? I’d love advice from anyone who’s had any similar experiences.

Take her out but on a lead so she can do her business but won't get chance to smell or eat anything she shouldn't.

I would do as PP suggested

Perfect, thank you both. That is what I have started doing overnight 😊
