Dog behaviour - humping

coffeewithmilk · 03/01/2021 19:09

Hi,
My dog is 6 months old and recently has taken a liking to a particular stuffed toy he has. Every evening without fail he starts to aggressively hump this toy and when we remove the toy he then starts licking himself and becomes slightly aggressive.
I don't know what else I can do. I would like to neuter him but the vet won't do it until he is older.

Any advice?
Thank you

Very common behaviour. Just remove the toy for a bit.

Just tell him to stop!! Remove the particular toy and leave the rest.

Our pup is just 3 months and has started this already! It's always when he's in the bitey overexcited stage...

Everything I've read says the same as the PP's - just remove the toy and distract.

It's excitement - neutering won't help, especially at such a young age.

I would remove the toy and encourage him to have a nap!

My 6 month old boy is the same, its only one particular cushion he is very keen on ! (Its his for his crate - doesn't go back on the sofa or anything)
