Our rescue dog ( had her 5 m) has been fine but has suddenly regressed. Used to happily sleep in an unlocked crate all night. recently she has been a bit averse to the crate, even during the day. At night she will start off in the crate but then gets up and scratches at the kitchen door (crate in kitchen).
Last couple nights I have shut kitchen door but this has led to her roaming about in the morning and barking for her breakfast. I want her back sleeping in crate with kitchen door shut but not sure how to get back to this. Any suggestions?
Would a gate work rather than a shut door maybe?
(Can’t sleep upstairs as DH has mild allergies to dog)
