How many people know a dog that has had a heart attack or died suddenly this year?

In my extended family we have had two. My mum's two year old and my sister's five year old. They dead a few months apart and lived opposite ends of the country. So no know connect there.

I have since heard of a couple of other perfectly healthy dogs that just suddenly had heart attacks.

As heart attacks can be a side affect of having covid I worry. We know some dogs have been found to test positive.

Dogs die all the time and I am more than likely being daft but just seems an odd.

That's so sad, it must have been really upsetting and shocking for your mum and sister to lose dogs unexpectedly. They become such a part of the family. My aunt's dog died suddenly but she was 14. She had been poorly and she passed away quietly in her sleep one night I've not heard of if happening any other time. You're right though it does seem odd.

I know three people (and I don't know that many people with dogs) whose young, healthy dogs have been life-threateningly poorly over Christmas.

Gosh that's awful! Surely there will be a news report on this if it's a common thing?
