Does your dog like Christmas?

My dog LOVED Christmas. She seems to know it's a special day and she loves everything about it apart from Christmas crackers. One year we bought her an advent calendar as a bit of a joke but she really liked it and seemed to think it was more special than just a normal dog treat. So she always gets that now. She also gets very excited by presents and loves wrapping paper, she seems to just enjoy being around when we open them but we always wrap up a couple of chews for her too which she likes. My neighbour bought her a festive tennis ball which was AMAZING apparently and I had to play with her for ages after dinner which she doesn't normally want. Of course she liked the dinner except from the scary crackers and someone letting off a firework about the same time Angry. But all in all she had a lovely day and cheered us all up with her antics.
Did everyone else's pups enjoy themselves?

Mine loves to pull crackers! Grin
She enjoys ripping the wrapping paper off presents aswell and when DM comes she brings with her one or two small wrapped presents for my dog.
She appreciates the bites of gammon, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes etc as I’m cooking/clearing up aswell

Our dog is 15 months old and he loved it yesterday but he needs to be left alone when he's sleeping, he fell asleep while we were watching a film, DH stroked him while he was asleep and he growled at him so we moved him into the kitchen where he could be left alone. Apart from that his tail didn't stop wagging.

We have a four month old puppy and I was nervous about yesterday but she was a delight. Her excitement levels were through the roof though, it's the first time we've really been able to take her into another house and she was so excited to see everyone. She was awake from 9am-2pm and 3pm-10pm cos she just wouldn't sleep (in case she missed something I think!) but she was no bother at all. Christmas is definitely a different experience with a dog! Not as relaxing.

Dogs were hilarious - loved opening their presents

Stood under me with eyes like saucers while I carved the beef

Mine was so excited yesterday morning, she wanted to be involved in the opening of every single present! I'm regretting the advent calendar though, she couldn't understand yesterday that it was over and kept sitting sadly by the shelf staring at the spot where it used to be.

Mine had a great day, but he is shattered today, so time for some routine.

Mine did not love Christmas. He is sensitive and introverted (😆) and tends to hide when we have people round. Add to that the crackers and the fireworks the neighbours were letting off and it was not a happy day for the hound. He is relaxed today though now it’s all over 🙂

Ah that's broken my heart, poor pup! That'll put me off ever getting mine one so thanks for the heads-up. You'll just need to give her a treat every morning forever to keep her happy Grin

Mine just loves being with me so the day itself doesn’t matter. Normally I would go to family (who adore him more than me, lol), and he loves that, but being at home is where he is happiest.
