Puppy threw up - worried

Our 8 1/2 week old puppy threw up earlier today. He has been enjoying pottering around the garden, and we have spent much time trying to stop him eat stuff. He has also been stopped from eating the cat litter.

We are worried because he is subdued. He perked up but is much less playful than usual. Is this normal or not? He is a little baby and we don’t know if we should call the vet or see how he goes.

Call the vet

Has he had any medication? Ours threw up after his worming tablet which the vet said was fine and normal.

Thank you, I really appreciate your replies. We called the vet, who said to keep an eye. We were really close to taking him in because of the lethargy, but we managed to get him to wake up, he came and had a drink, and now he is back to playing. We are SO relieved!! We were so worried. It is JUST like being a new parent.

How is he?

Sorry @Dinosaur19! I missed the question. He is totally fine! He did throw up once again that night (DH was worried he was hungry so fed him a bit at bedtime), but the next day he was totally fine, and has been right as rain since. He must just have munched something he shouldn't have!
